Who builds GenomeNarrator
GenomeNarrator is built by Ayan, a college student, and is worked on every week: the website, the reports and the reference data behind them. It reads a DNA file a person already has, from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA or a sequencing provider, and then reads their bloodwork against the same genome over time.
What it does, and what it does not
One upload gives disease risk across more than 1,000 conditions, how a person's genes affect common medicines, all 84 genes of the ACMG secondary findings list, ancestry, and 121 everyday traits. Add a lab report and each out-of-range marker is checked against the person's own genes. Every finding is written in plain English first, with its source record underneath.
GenomeNarrator does not sequence DNA or run lab tests; it reads files a person already has. It does no relative matching. It is an educational tool, not a diagnostic device, and makes no FDA, CLIA or clinical-grade claim. A result anyone would act on should be confirmed by a clinical laboratory.
How the work is checked
No AI model writes the results. Each finding is a match against a named public record (a ClinVar accession, a GWAS study, a PGS Catalog model or a CPIC guideline), and the record is shown with the finding. Accuracy is measured on public test sets with known answers, and the weak results are published with the strong ones: medication gene calls agree with PharmCAT on 99.4% of 46,341 gene calls in 3,202 people, and ancestry names the right population for 98.0% of 2,347 reference people. Every measurement is in the Technical Validation Note.
Your data
The raw genome file is read in the browser and never uploaded. Only the compact set of genotypes the scoring needs is sent, over HTTPS, and the scoring service keeps no copy. Genetic data is never sold or shared. See the privacy policy.
How it is paid for
By the people who use it: a $12.99 pass for 30 days, or a subscription from $9.99 a month that re-reads the genome as the reference databases update. A free sample report needs no account. See pricing.
